【摘要】:Thisprocedurecanbeusedforavarietyofapplications,includingidentifyingunlabeledmaterial,processcontrol,rawmaterialacceptance,productevaluation,andcompositionalchangeduringenvironmentaltesting.Rubberchemicalsvarywidelyintheirchemicalandphysicalproperties.Infraredspectrophotometersvaryinthepresentationofaspectrum(somearelinearwithabsorbance,otherswithtransmittance,someusegratingforenergydispersion,othersuseasodiumchlorideprism,someobtainaspectrumthroughamathematicalFourierTransform,andthelike).Forthesereasons,asingleuniversalmethodofspecimenpreparationandsetofinstrumentparametersisnotpossible.Byusingaspecificsamplingprocedureandoperatingconditions,agivenspectrophotometerwillgiveanabsorptioncurvethatischaracteristicoftherubberchemicalormixtureunderinvestigation.Theabilitytosuperimposetheinfraredspectrumofthetestspecimenuponthatofareferencespecimen,obtainedunderthesameconditions,isevidencethatthetwoareidentical.Thepresenceofadditionalabsorptionbandsineitherthetestspecimenorthereferencespecimenindicatesthepresenceofoneormoreadditionalcomponents.1.1Thispracticecoversasimple,rapidpracticetoprovetheidentityofarubberchemicalbeforeincorporationintoarubbermixbycomparisonofitsinfraredabsorptionspectrumwiththatofareferencespecimen.1.2Thistechniquecanalsobeusedtodetectgrosscontaminationorlargedifferencesinrubberchemicals.Thus,itcanprovideabasisforproducer-consumeragreement.1.3Wherever"infraredspectrophotometer"isused,"FourierTransformInfraredSpectrometer(FTIR)"mayalsobeunderstood.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
