【摘要】:Hotalkaliextractslowmolecularweightcarbohydratesconsistingmainlyofhemicelluloseanddegradedcelluloseinwood.Thissolubilityofwoodisanindicationofthedegreeoffungaldecay,ordegradationbyheat,light,oxidation,andsoforth.Themoredecayordegradation,thehigherthesolubility.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesolubilityofwoodinahotdilutealkalisolution.A1%solutionofsodiumhydroxide(NaOH)isused.Oneapplicationisindeterminingthedegreeoffungusdecaythathastakenplaceinagivenwoodsample.Asthewooddecays,thepercentageofalkali-solublematerialincreasesinproportiontothedecreaseinpulpyieldcausedbythedecay.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
