【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulinconfirmingthatanasphaltcementhasbeenmodifiedwithamaterialthatprovidesasignificantelastomericcomponent.Elastomermodifiedasphaltscanbecharacterizedbytheirabilitytobestretchedtoalargeelongationwhileatthesametimeresistingfurtherstretching.Toughnessandtenacityaretwoparametersformeasuringthisability.1.1Thistestmethoddescribestheprocedureformeasuringthetoughnessandtenacityofbituminousmaterials.Typically,thetestmethodhasbeenusedtocharacterizeelastomermodifiedasphalts,althoughvaluesfortoughnessandtenacitymaybeobtainedforanytypeofpolymer-modifiedornon-modifiedasphalt.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.2ThevaluesgiveninSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgivenininch-poundunitsinparenthesesareforinformationalpurposesonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
