【摘要】:TheTSECprovidesaquantitativemeasureofthetotalsolventextractableorganiccontentofthesolidwasteinquestion.BasedupontheTSEC,theextractmaybeanalyzedorfurtherprocessed(thatis,furthercleanuporsolventconcentration)inpreparationforanalysis.Thus,theTSECprovidesaquantitativemeasureforoptimizingtheextractableorganicconcentrationpriortochemicalanalysis.TheTSECofsoilorwastematerialmaybeusedasaquantitativemeasureforthescreeningandselectionofsamplesforchemicalanalysis.TheTSECmaybeusefulasasimpleandrelativelyinexpensivequantitativeindicatorofchangesoccurringinthetotalextractableorganiccontentofsoilorwastematerials.ThedetectionlimitoftheTSECdependsuponthespecificproceduresemployed.Typicaldetectionlimitsinsolventextracts(thatis,withoutsolventpre-concentration)forMethodAaremorethan1000x03BC;g/g.ForMethodBtypicaldetectionlimitsare20to100x03BC;g/ginthesolventextract.ForMethodCthetypicaldetectionlimitsare3to20x03BC;g/gforsolutesinthesolventextract.Thesensitivityofthemethodscanbeadjustedbyvaryingthevolumeofsolventextractpriortogravimetricresiduedetermination.1.1Thesetestmethodsdescribestandardproceduresforgravimetricallydeterminingthetotalnonvolatileandsemi-volatileorganiccontentofsolventextractsfromsoilsorsolidwastes.Thefollowingmethodsareincluded:SectionMethodA-Micro-DeterminationofTSECMethodB-EvaporatingDishProcedureMethodC-BoilingFlaskProcedure
